About Us

Children aged four and upwards attend Guru Ram Das Darbar in Calgary to learn Kirtan (the performing of Sikh hymns) using the Harmonium (Vaja) and Tabla (East Indian percussion instrument). Students are also taught the recitation of Gurbani, reading/writing/speaking of the Punjabi language, and Sikh History. Classes are scheduled on every Saturday from 2 - 5 pm, yet private lessons can be arranged at any time throughout the week.
